Shalom Ach- Shav! * 

The Lubavitcher Rebbe:
"Shalom Achshav is Worse than the Twelve Spies"

33 years ago, when the extreme left movement Peace Now was established, no one grasped  the damage that this movement will do. The Lubavitcher Rebbe immediately warned of this dangerous left-wing movement, and called to publicly against all the organization′s actions. 

We hereby present a short synopsis of the Lubavitcher Rebbe′s talk with Rabbi Simcha Elberg, ob"m.  Rabbi Elberg was the head of the Agudas HaRabbonim in the USA.  The Rebbe spoke with Rabbi Elberg on Motzoei Acharon S Pesach, 5738 (1978). (Free translation)

"Agudas HaRabbonim must come out with strength and force against the movement that arose recently and calls itself "Peace Now " It is the most dangerous movement for the people of Israel ... when Jews get up and establish a movement whose agenda is the return of the territories, they are ′thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth from thee.′ 

"They are worse than the spies - the spies only acted among the children of Israel and made them weak, and only wanted to stay in the desert, while the new movement will also work among the nations of the world to explain to them that the Jews should give up the Holy Land, and they will defame the country inside and outside. Therefore, the danger is very great and the Agudas HaRabbonim should work with public relations against them and inspire anyone who has influence with all their strength. 

"If they will not act in time, they will be the cause of a lot of trouble never before seen in Israel. All organizations and rabbis need to know the major responsibilities, since that organization, if not fought against with propaganda, within a short period, will be the root of bitterness, which all the sages of Israel will not succeed to repair its damage and its injustices."
