The Enemy:High Court
Gershon Mesika, Chairman, Shomron Regional Council
We find ourselves in a very difficult period, the period of the "heels of Moshiach"; this era is so challenging, that even Ulla the Amora said "let him come, but let me not see him." The left, with their last dying breath, is extremely dangerous. The media, instead of being democracy′s watchdog, became a vicious dog attacking anything that smells like authentic Judaism. The fanatic left fights incessantly and relentlessly against those who cherish our traditions and laws. The High Court serves as their spearhead, and attacks the religious and the settlers alike.
I am not an expert on the issues in Immanuel; it is most possible that there is room for improvement there. However, the extreme left pounced on this because it concerns religious Jews, and in addition, they are- gasp- also settlers. This is an unforgivable sin.
Today, it is preferable to be an Arab or leftist. Anat Kam, the spy, who compromised the national security, sits at home, the flotilla terrorists were released almost on the spot, but the Immanuel parents, with young children, were under lock and key. This is an unprecedented occurrence in the history of the state. The most absurd of all is that a third of the mothers who were to be jailed are Sfardi.
I call out to the High Court: "Lay not your hand upon the lad"! The country has bigger enemies than the charedim and the "orange" population.
We will not allow a minority of 3% of the population to force -aggressively and offensively- their principles on the entire population. We turn to them and say: perfect yourself first. Take a good hard look at the sour fruits that your leftist education has grown- drugs, violence, actions against the government, deserting the country and blatant ignorance about anything Jewish. Look who is calling the kettle black!
From the pages of the "Our Land of Israel" magazine, I appeal to the entire religious and charedi population to unite! Let us all join hands, and lead the nation together.
Every child knows in which direction the wind is blowing: already last year, more than 50% of the first graders were registered in religious or charedi schools. Our future is clear. Nothing will help the other side. With Hashem′s help we will unite, as one man with one heart, and when that will come to be, no force in the world will be able to stand in our way. |
