Netanyahu: Since when is Loyalty to the Homeland Branded as Messianism?

Rabbi Yosef Mendelowitz, Prisoner of Zion

It seems as if everyone has forgotten the campaign that Benyamin Netanyahu ran in the Likud Party, to postpone the party institutions elections for another year and a half.

In order to attract the support of the center in his favor, he chose Moshe Feiglin as his punching bag. This was done at the recommendation of his advisers. This is what he said about him: "a messianic extremist who dreams of a Greater Israel."

Likud central committee members must have been scared by the "terrible" option and supported Netanyahu′s non-democratic proposal. Members of the Eretz Yisroel lobby explained: We supported Netanyahu to give him confidence for the difficult negotiations ahead.

I do not support Moshe Feiglin′s group, Manhigut Yehudit, who chose a very strange way struggle over the Land of Israel, and I am writing this with a lot of pain. But the harsh words directed against Feiglin by the Likud head should concern all those Jews who remain faithful to Eretz Yisroel. Israel′s faith is a belief in salvation, in Moshiach.

This is what Israel′s prime minister currently thinks of us: "hallucinatory Messianists" (do you all hear this, kipa wearers that vote Likud?) Moreover, he himself must be an "enlightened liberal" who strives for the establishment of the State of Palestine on territories of the land of Israel.

One need not be a prophet to know that in a short time the Arabs will blow up the "proximity talks" in order to put Hussein Obama′s direct pressure on Israel. This is in order to start an all-out war, G-d forbid.

Then, the Jewish nation would need that strong belief, that: "the Glory of Israel will not lie." We need true belief that the hardest things that may occur, G-d forbid, are part of the salvation process before the great day of the G-dly Revelation, as the prophets have prophesized.

I do not know if Netanyahu will understand his mistake and turn to the "Messianists" camp as a trusted stake that could save the situation. But we, the believers, should be ready to stand in the breach, as one, for a "messianic" battle.
