Why Did We March in the City of Dovid?

Boruch Marzel and Itamar Ben Gvir

We understood the importance of the march we held this week in the city of David when we walked through the village′s main street and dozens of Arabs and extreme left, accompanied by politicians from Meretz and Kadima, spit, cursed and blasphemed the people of Israel. They shouted at us: "This is Palestine" and "Death to Jews." "Here," meaning a few hundred meters from the Western Wall.

We came to the city of David, because the Arabs in the region crossed all the red lines. It not only the screams that we heard throughout the path, it′s not only the PLO and Hamas flags hoisted in the heart of the village giving visitors a reason to think it was the heart of the Casbah in Gaza; this is a large group of thugs running wild and building everywhere, sponsored by the state prosecutor Lidor and Municipal Attorney General Chaviliu. It is they who do not enforce the construction laws. It is they who allow for illegal Arab construction, while enforcing the laws on Jews only. They effectively run a racist policy.

Incidentally, there are other issues aside from illegal construction. Arabs in the city of David destroyed more than 2,000 burial caves from the Second Temple, historic sites of Israel - and no one speaks up.

They scorn the people of Israel, damage holy places of Israel and continue to operate by way of terrorism. Just last month, they wished to kill a security guard, and almost every day Molotov cocktails are thrown, not to mention throwing stones - but Israel , who boasts of "independence", is silent.

We have nothing against those who seek peace with Israel, who are loyal to the people of Israel. But those who are offensive, opprobrious, abusive, break the law and sees themselves as representatives of "Palestine" - have to understand that they are not the boss. That is why we came to the village, to make it clear once and for all.

True, the weak and dangerous Prime Minister opposed the march. Hussein Obama′s emissary, envoy Mitchell, did not like the timing. Precisely because of this, we realized that the march in the city of David is an important step. Aside from the message against the racist policies of the prosecution, there is a clear and sharp statement: Israel is the owner of the City of David, and not any other element.
