Twenty Years Since the "Dirty Trick"
The Lubavitcher Rebbe warned: "when they will start to waive, there will be no end to it"
20 years ago this week, the "dirty trick" that Mr. Shimon Peres initiated was thwarted, by following the directive of the Lubavitcher Rebbe not to support a government which is ready to give up Holy Land territories * We hereby publish the amazing transcript * of the Rebbe′s conversation with journalist Oded Ben – Ami **, who asked the Rebbe about this topic
Israel has no government.
"The good part about it is that during the time that there is no government, officially everything depends on Mr. Shamir. I hope that he will stand firm (and insist that) there will be a complete (and uncompromised) Nation, a complete (and uncompromised) Land, a completeness in all of the Land, together with a complete (and uncompromised) Torah- which all of these are interdependent."
So is it expedient that Mr. Shamir be Prime Minister?
"I do not mix into politics. Furthermore, and this is the main thing: I hope that immediately the Prime Minister will be Moshiach Tzidkeinu. But for those very few moments until he comes, it is imperative that the approach be like his approach has been: that concerning all of the ′territories′, even the little part, cannot be relinquished, and do this in peaceful ways, because specifically through this approach there will be peace in the country and the region, which is not the case if they start to make concessions then there is no end to it, and the more they give away it will just increase the appetite of the anti-Semites who will (then) demand more and more and this will to results which are the opposite of tranquility and the opposite of peace."
*The above is a loose translation of the Rebbe′s words,
