Givat Menachem shul was destroyed again
The Givat Menachem shul near Nachliel was destroyed again, for the third time this week. The synagogue was dedicated just two weeks ago, in the presence of Rabbi Shalom Dov Volpo, who attached the mezuzah. The synagogue was dedicated with dozens of residents and yeshiva students studying there in attendance. Rabbi Avi Cohen, director of the local Chabad House, Rabbi Shalom Dov Volpo, Rabbi Shendorfi Rosh Yeshiva, Shai Geffen, CEO of ′Our Land of Israel ′ and Rabbi Baruch Marzel addressed the assembled. Rabbi Volpo warned the defense minister that if he will destroy the synagogue again he will have a bitter end; Rabbi Marzel encouraged everyone to build, and violate all the freeze orders.
Following the latest destruction, Rabbi Avi Cohen announced that the building was re-established and that threats and destruction will not frighten us.
Many support the soldiers′ protest
About thirty percent of the Israeli public support the Shimshon and Nachshon soldier protest. The soldiers, who waved signs against the uprooting of settlements, were ousted from the army. A survey conducted last week by the Maagar Mochot Institute shows that about 30% of the public support the protest, 59% opposed and 11% do not have an opinion. Most charedi voters (56%) and 38% of the right-wing voters support protests of soldiers, such as raising banners against the possibility of uprooting settlements in Yehuda and Shomron.
