An Open letter to the Attorney General, Minister of Defense and Chief of Police
Following the investigation that I underwent this week at the Moriah Police Station in Jerusalem, regarding my encouragement to refuse an order for deportation of Jews from their homes and the transfer of their property to the terrorists - I wish to ask:
1. "Yesh Gvul" published an inciting pamphlet titled "War Crimes." On pages 26-27, they encourage refusal to serve in the "occupied territories," ensuring explicit support for soldiers who are imprisoned for refusal. On their website, they invite the soldiers to sign a petition refusing orders, and published a detailed a list of 1686 soldiers who already signed.
2. "Ometz Lesarev" is also active in preventing soldiers to serve in the territories. Its home page has a list of 628 soldiers who have signed a petition not to serve in the territories. That page has links to demonstrations held for this purpose, and articles lauding refusal.
3. "Peace Now" writes on its website: "Dissenters who refuse to serve in the occupied territories, deserve appreciation for their courage and personal civil and moral position. Refusal of peace of the government of Israel that prefers settlements over the peace of its citizens, is the matter at hand.
Reserve Brigadier General Yiftah Spector, who had the most senior rank, signed the "Letter of pilots (who refused to serve in the territories),in 2003, and last week received an honor certificate from the commander of Air Force Maj. Gen. Ido Nechushtan. The Ha′aretz newspaper of Feb. 5 even knew to relate that Spector said this week, that unlike some signatories of the letter, he backs his act."
How do you explain the amazing forgiveness to organizations preaching to refuse command to serve in Yehuda and Shomron? At the very same time, the attorney general and the police persecute the Eretz Yisroel loyalists. Is this not this a criminal offense of abuse of authority, and use of arms of the administration for the implementation of political goals?
